I’ve not resigned my seat – Newly elected NDC MP

The newly elected Member of Parliament for Ejura Sekyedumasi in the Ashanti Region, Alhaji Muhammad Bawa Braimah, has denied claims that he has resigned his seat over issues of fraud in the just ended general elections in his constituency.

Rumours of his resignation surfaced on social media Thursday morning, with a message claiming that he took the decision based on a supposed “fraud in his favour” during the counting of parliamentary ballots for his constituency.

The viral message also claimed Mr Braimah has petitioned his main contender, Bamba Salisu Mohammed of the New Patriotic Party, to take over the seat.

But Mr Braimah has asked Ghanaians to disregard such rumour, noting he has not taken any such decision.
