Cocoa spraying gang leaders warned against derailing programme

Wam Adiembra (B/A) Jan. 20 GNA – Mr George Yaw Boakye, Asunafo District Chief Executive (DCE), has warned leaders of cocoa spraying gangs and supervisors to avoid acts that could derail the effective implementation of the programme. He gave the warning in response to complaints made by some spraying groups that their allowance for previous work done was short by 9,500 cedis each, in an interview with the GNA at Wam Adiembra in the district.

The DCE said it was wrong for persons engaged in the spraying exercise to cheat either the sprayers or the beneficiary farmers and warned that offenders would be made to face the full rigors of the law. Mr Boakye urged cocoa farm owners and gang members not to hesitate to report any acts of malpractice to the appropriate quarters for redress.
