Volta NDC hires motor riders to jubilate in Ho

Some motor riders in the Ho Municipality have told DAILY GUIDE that the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Volta Region hired them to create a jubilant mood in Ho, the regional capital.

The rider who declined mentioning his identity disclosed that they were promised some cash and fuel to lead a convoy through the Ho township amidst the tooting of horns and clad in NDC paraphernalia to create a vibrant mood in the capital.

The entire Volta Region has been engulfed in a silent mood ever since election results started trickling in from other parts of the country. The silence is so deafening that even a drop of a needle can be heard.

Business slows

Apart from the silence, business activities have been sluggish throughout the regional capital.

Restaurants and other food vendors have also suffered some sluggishness in the flow of business. Taxi drivers have also been worried about patronage, as they are complaining about the sharp decline in passengers in town. “But where are the human beings? The entire town is quiet like a cemetery and we can’t even make sales,” one of them, Bright Semabia, wondered.

To this end, some passengers are finding it difficult to access taxis, as there has been a sharp decline in taxi operations.

The NDC in the Volta Region has, however, urged its supporters to be in white and not to hesitate to jubilate.

To this end, they have organised some motor riders and a Kia trucks with loud speakers tooting horns and playing songs through the principal streets of Ho, thereby, creating a seeming vibrant atmosphere.

In a press conference held prior to the jubilation, the Volta Regional Chairman of the NDC, John Kwadwo Gyapong announced that “we believe our presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, is likely to win this election but we will wait for the Electoral Commission to declare the winner as we always do as a party.”
