The EC has performed creditably – Kweku Baako

Editor in Chief of the New Crusading Guide Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has commended the Electoral Commission for its creditable performance in this year’s general elections.

Speaking on JoyNews’ news’ analysis program, News file, Kweku Baako noted that despite the few instances of irregularities, this year’s polls were fairly “transparent and credible” owing to what he described as “the EC’s creditable performance.

According to him, unlike previous elections which were characterized by serious challenges, this year’s elections were peaceful, free and fair. He added that the EC’s role in ensuring peaceful elections was commendable as they put in very effective measures that resulted in an outcome that “represents the will of the people”.

He however expressed disappointment in the actions of some NDC representatives following the projections of a complete win for the NPP Flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo, chiding them for urging supporters to engage in activities that could incite chaos.

The Electoral Commission Friday declared Nana Akufo-Addo as the newly elected President of Ghana after an unusual delay in the release of the December 7 election results.
