Arrest ‘Wontumi’ over false claims – Kwame Zu to Police

Ashanti Regional Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Kwame Zu is calling on the police to arrest the Ashanti regional chairman of opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bernard Antwi Boasiako popularly called ‘Chairman Wontumi’ for deceiving the police.

The police intercepted fake concealed three bags of thumb printed ballot papers today in Kumasi following a tip-off by ‘Chairman Wontumi’.

Speaking on Abusua FM’s Abusua Nkommo hosted by Kwame Adinkrah, he said the police should arrest ‘Wontumi’ for interrogation.

‘I mean it’s obvious ‘Wontumi’ is behind all this, we are surprised that the police have not arrested him, they should have arrested him because he is the only source of information about the thumb printed ballot papers,’ he said.

Mr Zu wondered why the NPP’s chairman would create fear and panic in the region adding that the NPP have lost the elections hence this conduct.

‘The election is not about war, it’s difficult to understand the way they are behaving. If you don’t have a message, allow us to send our message across to the people of Asanteman. What they are doing does not augur well for nation building. In the absence of credible information, they are speculating and resorting to violence, ‘ he fumed.

He assured that the NDC would protect their members in the region.
