Soldiers raid home of ex-officer in Tamale

Armed military and police force in the Northern region have invaded and ransacked residence of an ex military officer WO1 Anongba 6BN Tuesday December, 6 2016.

According to the ex officer, the raid was carried out at about 3:30am when the force without search warrant broke into his house and ordered him to lay face down.

His family were also restrained and warned not to “act funny”.

“We were all made to lay flat on our faces whiles they carried out the search, I asked them what intelligence they have picked on my residence and they wouldn’t talk.

“Even when my little daughter wanted to shit and requested she goes to the toilet they didn’t allow her,” he narrated to Ultimate News’ Eliasu Tanko.

The motive behind the operation is still not clear but the ex military man said his entire house were searched and some of his belongings vandalized. He added “all attempts to have me accompany the officers in the search fell on deaf ears as they broke into every room”.

The military and the police in the region are tight lipped over the incident, however it is suspected to be linked to an allegation that the ex officer was training a vigilante group to cause violence on Elections Day.
