Electoral Commission ready for December 7 elections

The Electoral Commission (EC) is ready for the conduct of the 7 December presidential and parliamentary elections, Samuel Tetteh, Director of Elections at the Commission, has said.

Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Wednesday 30 November, he said all was set for the polls.

He noted that ballot papers, ballot boxes, and all materials needed for a successful poll had been sent to the regions.

“We have asked district officers to check and recheck to make sure that if there are some corrections, definitely we have some corrections which we have done, and then send them back to the various regions and constituencies and districts. The only material we have finished but yet to deliver or send to the regions are the declaration of results forms,” he stated.

The EC has promised to deliver a “world-class” election.

Meanwhile, early voting begins tomorrow Thursday December 1 for security personnel, EC officials and journalists who will be working on election day.
