NCCE officer enstooled chief for Sawireso in Asunafo District

New Sawireso (B/A), Jan. 12, GNA – Mr Listowell Ihene Adjei, 38-year-old Field Officer at the Asunafo District Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), has been installed chief of New Sawireso in the Asunafo District under the stool name Nana Duah Agyeman II.

The new chief pledged to promote education, especially female education, which he noted was very low in the area.

Nana Duah Agyeman, who is yet to swear the oath of allegiance to the President of Kukuom Traditional Council, Osahene Kwaku Aterkyi, noted that the absence of a substantive chief for New Sawireso for the past six years had stalled the area’s development.

He, however, pledged that his leadership would take drastic measures to step up the growth of the community.

He called for maximum support and co-operation from his subjects to enable him to deliver up to expectation.

As a first step towards development, he announced that a borehole would be provided for the town this January to alleviate water shortage and the spread of water borne diseases in the town.
