Dormaa completes classroom block for vocational centre

Dormaa Ahenkro, Jan 12, GNA- A block of three classrooms estimated at 45 million cedis for the Dormaa Vocational Training Centre at Dormaa Ahenkro has been completed.

The Centre and the District Assembly jointly funded the project. Mr Asamoah Tortoe, Managing Director of the Centre, commended the students for their contributions towards the completion of the project. He told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that two semi-detached bungalows for tutors estimated at 60 million cedis is under construction and appealed to the Parent/Teacher Association (PTA) of the centre to levy the students for the early completion of the project.

Mr Tortoe said lack of funds is a major problem for the centre and that this has stalled the construction of a girls’ hostel.

”The centre is run with the school fees and the low enrolment of students is a major obstacle to its rapid development,” he added. He advised the youth in the area to patronize the institution to acquire the necessary skills for them to be self-employed.
