Vote Mahama; I’ll come 2020 to execute domestication – Dr. Lartey

The Flagbearer of the Great Consolidated Popular Party, Henry Hebert Lartey has insisted his party’s endorsement of President Mahama was a unilateral decision taken by National Executives of the party.

Dr. Lartey who announced his support for the ruling National Democratic Congress at a press conference in Kumasi on Sunday intimated his party took the decision based on the myriads of projects and policies introduced by the John Mahama administration to improve the lives of ordinary Ghanaians.

There are suspicions Dr. Lartey was financially induced by the incumbent government to throw his weight behind Presidential candidate of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama.

Speaking on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM, Dr. Lartey said President Mahama has secured the foundation for the economic take-off and wants him to consolidate the system for his domestication policy which he’ll come to execute in 2020, when the party is voted into power.

“Now we don’t have any choice and we also don’t want any other candidate to come and spoil the foundation that President Mahama has built. That is why we’re asking Ghanaians and our supporters to vote for JM, so that when we come we’ll continue the domestication for our economy. In any case we see some of the projects of the current government aligned with our domestication policy.”

A range of good projects which according to Lartey falls in line with his domestication mantra include the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange which he says has become tourist attraction, Komenda Sugar Factory, local content delivery in Ghana’s oil business that allow participation of locals as well as other infrastructural developments

The GCPP leader has been a critic of the NDC government, when he earnestly contested for the presidency months ago before his disqualification in October.
