According to the DAILY DISPATCH , there are credible indications that Vice-President Alhaji Aliu Mahama will continue to be the running mate of President Kufuor contrary to media and political speculations that the VEEP will not be President Kufuor’s running mate for this year’s Presidential elections.
A close source to the President said “the President or the party has declined to publicly or officially respond to rumours that the Vice President will not be President Kufour’s running mate. We want to remain focused”.
“We are aware that there will be various attempts to try and tempt the party or the President into unnecessary media wars. We will, unfortunately, disappoint them. When the President files his nomination in August, the Vice President’s name will be there as running mate”, the source revealed.
