Ken Agyapong doesn’t deserve ‘honourable’ title – Police

Assin Central MP Kennedy Agaypong does not deserve to be called an honourable man because of the lies and falsehood he is peddling about the Ghana Police Service, Chief Superintendent Hamza Yakubu, Commanding Officer of the Formed Police Unit (FPU), has said.

Dismissing rumours that the newly-formed FPU trainees were preparing for illegal electoral functions on December 7, in an exclusive interview with Class 91.3FM’s Atiewin Mbillah-Lawson, Chief Supt Hamza said: “These rumours are being spearheaded by Kennedy Agyapong. I refuse to add Honourable (to his name ) because of all that he has been doing and saying about us. I think for me, he does not deserve that accolade. And, so, Kennedy Agyapong, the MP for Assin Central, is the one who has been peddling these rumours about us.”

“It has also gotten to our notice that their communicators have taken up the same propaganda and lies and they are churning it all over the country. We have clips of him saying what I am alleging and I have also met some operatives of the New Patriotic Party who have also confronted me with these allegations.

He added: “Information that these trainees are being prepared to be deployed for illegal [activities during] elections or electoral functions is absolutely false. I wish to remind all those who have peddled this false rumour to ask God for forgiveness because we are going to serve God and our country. It is a fact that this training commenced with full media coverage and it’s ending in similar fashion. The purpose by now should be clearly and honestly defined in the service of humanity.”
