The European Union (EC) Election Observer Mission in Ghana has revealed that it will not interfere in the work of the Electoral Commission (EC) which is the mandated body to conduct the December 7 polls.
Some of the observers who have already been deployed to the Upper West Region, told Balu Mohammed of Tumu-based Radford Fm, that their colleagues are in over 20 constituencies nationwide to rehearse how results will be received on election night
“They picked 20 constituencies all over Ghana and one constituency is Tumu which is a big honour. Our team is 12 in Ghana, we have expert in every team. We look at all aspects of the elections from training, preparations, electronic gadgets and the electoral body. We are now waiting for the operator to come and set up and we will see how it goes. Everybody can come around to see whether things work the way everyone expects”
According to her, they are only in Ghana to observe the process and not to interfere with the work of the EC.
“We have not also seen any violence in the region after two weeks of stay in the region. We haven’t seen any violence so far and we are very happy about that” she commended.
