Ursula Owusu’s stolen campaign banners used to sell pork

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma West constituency and New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the area Ursula G. Owusu-Ekuful, has expressed her frustration at the spate at which her campaign banners are being stolen.

According to her, the acts are being perpetrated by some faceless individuals who after stealing the banners sell to some persons at a paltry fee without recourse to the consequences of the action she indicates is inimical to democracy.

She indicates that a lot of money goes into the designing and printing of the flexi banners but these bandits are only interested in stealing and selling them at GHc15 to some persons who are always ready to buy.

She shared her frustrations on her official Facebook wall; “Just saw my banner being used as a table cloth by a fried yam and pork vendor at Madina Zongo junction. She claims she bought it for 15 cedis from someone who sells several flexi banners.

I wonder how they get them. They couldn’t even wait till the elections were over?? Or are they spoilt or rejected banners? This is where our money goes, to replace banners which mysteriously disappear”
