Ghanaians urged to change their eating habit

Obo-Kwahu (E/R), Dec 31, GNA- A Pharmacist at the Classic Herbal Center, a drug manufacturing company in Accra, Mr Eric Dwamena, has called on Ghanaians to change their eating habit and avoid excessive drinking of alcohol to avoid falling sick.

He said imbalanced diet and high intake of alcohol were the cause of diseases like diabetes, hypertension and other heart diseases among Ghanaians and this had reduced the country’s life expectancy to 57 years.

Mr Dwamena was addressing the chiefs and people of 13 communities in the Kwahu South and West Akyem districts where the Centre freely distributed quantities of its products to the people as its Christmas package to help improve health.

The products, worth 25 million cedis, included Class Bitters, Class Malacure and Class Tonic, tee shirts, cup and calendars.

Some of the beneficiary communities included Akyem Jejeti, Jejeti Nkwanta, Kwahu Nsaba, Nkawkaw, Nkwatia, Obo, Obomeng and Mpraeso. The Managing Director of the Center, Nana Obeng Akrofi, explained that the package being distributed to the people in the area was due to their high patronage of the products, saying the gesture would be extended to other parts of the country.

The chief of Obo-Kwahu, Nana Yeboah Afari Buagyan II, who commended the Centre for coming out with the products, urged it to step up its research and promised to give the Centre land to construct a factory in the area.
