Veteran Journalist, Mr. Alhassan Imoro, has died at age 69. According to the elder daughter of the former Principal of Olive School of Journalism, Madam Safura, Mr. Imoro’s sad event occurred at the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) last night after a short illness.
Mr. Alhassan Imoro was born on 2nd April 1947. He is a product of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) and former Northern Regional Chairman of the Ghana Journalists’ Association (GJA).
Mr. Alhassan Imoro was also a former Media Director of Tamale based Rural Media Network (RUMNET), former Northern Regional Manager of the Ghana Nakews Agency and Editor of the Northern Advocate. As a media trainer, Mr. Alhassan Imoro imparted knowledge on a lot of journalists with his over three decades rich experience in the profession in the Northern and Upper Regions of Ghana.
He left behind a wife, 6 children and 6 grandchildren. Madam Safura Alhassan, first born of the late Alhassan Imoro told Fiila News the entire family is saddened by the death of their father.
According to her, she spoke with her father last Saturday and there was no indication that he was sick, but only to receive a distress call last night that he was no more. The body of the late Mr. Alhassan Imoro has since been laid to rest.
