Gomoa-Mprumem Junior JSS gets educational items

Gomoa-Mprumem (C/R), Jan. 1, GNA – More than 10 million cedis worth of textbooks, library books and other educational materials were presented to Gomoa-Mprumem Junior Secondary School (JSS) on Wednesday. The donation was made jointly by friends and well-wishers of Nana Dr. Obrafo Onwam, Odikro of Mprumem in America towards the promotion of education in the area.

The gesture formed part of activities marking the annual Akwanbo festival of the chief and people of Mprumem. A special Christmas party was also organised for about 550 school children in the town on Tuesday.

Nana Onwam thanked his friends and well-wishers Churches in America for contributing towards the development of education in the town. According the Odikro a fund-raising rally would be organised at Mprumem on January 3 towards the development of the town. About ten years ago the donors contributed about 40,000 dollars towards the construction of a JSS block and a library at the Mprumem.
