I’m still in the 2016 election race – Mornah

The PNC national chairman who is also the party’s parliamentary candidate for the Nadowli-Kaleo constituency Bernard Mornah has discounted reports making rounds in the constituency that he has been disqualified.

Speaking at separate meetings in Tandouri, San and Kuuri on Tuesday, Mr. Mornah described the rumours as false, explaining that he was in Accra to ensure that the flag bearer of the PNC is re-admitted into the presidential race.

“I have heard some people are going round telling you I have been disqualified. That information is false and I must say my decision to contest is borne out of my desire to ensure that we are all freed from the neglect we are currently experiencing,” Mornah noted.

“So if anyone comes to you to say I am no longer contesting, tell the person he or she is a liar,” he added.

Mornah, who is bent on unseating incumbent MP Alban Sumana Bagbin, also took a swipe at the MP who is also the Majority Leader.

He asked why Mr. Bagbin is claiming credit for every development project in the area.

“Now our MP who has been in power for 24 years is taking credit for all projects here. This is interesting because we are not able to tell which project is for the assembly, NGOs and even central government.

“This shows that our MP has failed us and we need to vote him out on 7th December,” he stressed.

The Nadowli-Kaleo constituency is one of the hottest constituencies in the Upper West region and is expected to attract a lot of attention ahead of the elections.
