Assembly members asked not to fear to criticise issues

Mamponteng (Ash), Dec 30, GNA – Nana Asante Frempong, the Member of Parliament for Kwabre, has called on assembly members to be bold to critically analyse issues that come before them at the assembly before decisions are taken on them.

He said this would enable the electorate to know their competence and also promote and develop good governance in the district. Nana Asante Frempong was addressing a meeting of assemblywomen of the Kwabre District Assembly at Mamponteng on Monday.

He said it was unfortunate that assembly members, especially the women, at times allow certain decisions to be taken without challenging those decisions only to complain later.

This, the MP, said does not only affect the integrity of the assembly member but it also create a problem for the electorate and the communities.

Miss Felicia Serwaa, a government appointee to the assembly and Miss Esther Amponsah-Afriyie, assemblywoman for Hemang, commended Nana Asante Frempong for his initiatives.
