NPP not ready for power – Lecturer

Mr. Kwasi Amakye Boateng, a political science lecturer with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has revealed that the internal struggles within the ranks of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are still persistent.

According to him, the party has only managed to shelve the problems within its ranks stating that what pertains within the NPP is an indication it is not prepared to win the 2016 elections.

“They have not resolved their differences; they have only managed to shelve it. While collecting my data, I went to the Volta Region and respondents indicated that any other person either than Nana Addo Will be voted for”, he disclosed.

He however observed what would have been the best alternative for the NPP is Alan Kyeremanten but indicated that he has also been disgraced and forced to do things against his own wish by the NPP.

“In 2008 the NPP was not ready for power and till date it is same. If they had listened and acted accordingly, they would have won the elections but Alan Kyeremanten has now been disgraced even though Ghanaians like him. Whether he likes it or not, he has to do some of the things he is doing”, he stated.

“NPP, they don’t want to win. If there was any other candidate apart from Nana Addo, the NPP will win the elections. Kwame I have told you the truth”, he disclosed on Abusua Nkomo hosted by Kwame Adinkra.

The lecturer observed that the party has some special kingmakers and have ways of projecting some candidates emphasizing that these are some of the issues that will destroy the party in the near future if steps are not immediately taken to remedy the situation.

“There are a lot of problems still in the party”, he concluded.
