Two killed, 17 injured in Bolga road accident

A woman and her baby have died, and 17 others injured in a gory accident on the Bolgatanga road in the Upper East region.

The incident occurred when the mini bus with registration number GT3638-25 they heading towards Savelugu skidedd off the road, smashing into a tree.

The bodies of the deceased, according to the police, have been deposited in the morgue at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.

Also, the injured, added the police, are receiving treatment at the same facility.

The Savelugu municipal police commander, ASP Tawiah Kwadwo William said preliminary probe has revealed the driver, who gave his name as Razak, “might have dozed off” and veered off resulting in the crash.

According to him, the police raced to the scene after learning of the accident from a distressed caller who unsuccessfully tried contacting an ambulance service.
