Kojo Oppong Nkrumah to fix ‘terrible’ Ofoase Ayirebi-Oda road

Parliamentary candidate of the opposition NPP for the Ofoase Ayirebi constituency, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has promised to fix the terrible road linking Ofoase Ayirebi to the Oda township if voted into power.

Speaking on the deplorable nature of the road after a meeting with some members of the Zongo community in the constituency on Saturday, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said he was going to ensure that funds were made available to fix the road once he is elected MP.

He said the nature of the road was so bad it needed immediate attention, something he would do if given the opportunity by constituents.

He said the New Patriotic Party is keen on fixing the many infrastructural challenges of communities in the country hence its promise of allocating a million dollars to every constituency in the country for the purpose when voted into power.

According to him, the New Patriotic Party sees the need to empower communities in the country to identify and address numerous challenges with infrastructure thereby deepening the local governance process.

“The beautiful thing about the NPP manifesto is that we’re saying that instead of leaving the $1.6 billion infrastructure budget sitting in Accra being used for 3 or 4 roundabouts about which they’re making a lot of noise and printing in books sharing all over the country, we’re going to give every constituency $1m. If this constituency is given $1m we can fix this road as quickly as possible” he said.

The NPP amongst others is promising to set up a factory in every district in the country and also create a dam in every village in the three Northern regions in Ghana.
