One feared dead in Volta Lake accident at Yeji

One person is missing in another accident on the Volta Lake in Yeji in the Brong Ahafo Region after the boat in which they were traveling caught fire on Thursday.

The boat which had 25 occupants was moving from Yeji to Makango in the East Gonja District of the Northern Region when the unfortunate incident happened.

This is the third time such incident has happened this year.

Information available indicates that the missing man, who is the boat operator jumped into the Lake in an attempt to save his life when the outboard motor of the boat caught fire suddenly.

A search team is on a mission to retrieve the body.

Two motorbikes which were being transported were destroyed in the boat fire.
