Enchi Police adopts measures to combat crime

Enchi (W/R), Dec 26, GNA – The Police at Enchi in the Aowin Suaman district, have intensified patrols to check criminal activities in the area during the Christmas holidays.

Mr. Fleance Sienim Adeka, Assistant Superintendent of Police in-charge of the District, told the Ghana News Agency at Enchi on Wednesday, that the decision was help stamp out crime, which normally increase in the area during this period of the year.

“At this time of the year, which is also a cocoa season, all sorts of criminals, including tricksters, armed robbers and drug dealers come here in their numbers”.

Mr. Adeka said the Police would check motor traffic offences such as over-speeding, over-loading and drunk driving to eliminate accidents. He disclosed that already a number of drivers had been put before court for traffic offences and fined 4.4 million cedis.

Mr. Adeka called on the public to volunteer information that would lead to the arrest of criminals.
