Akwatia, Dec. 26, GNA – Seven out of the ten people who died in a motor accident at Asikasu near Asamankese on Tuesday, have been identified and three of them buried on Wednesday.
Helena Akosua Agyarkwaa, 32-year-old mother of four who was reportedly eight months pregnant, was buried at Akwatia, while her two year-old son, who received serious injuries was on admission at the Akwatia St. Dominic’s Catholic Hospital.
At Boadua near Akwatia, 17-year-old Daniel Asomaning and his eight-year-old nephew, Shadrack Arhinful, were buried on Christmas day. According to police, three of the identified bodies yet to be collected from the St. Dominic’s Hospital included those of the Rev. Amos Kotei, 40, of the Agape Ministry, Accra, his wife, Alberta, 38 and brother, Ben, 35.
Also uncollected was the body of Mercy Ashong of Osenase near Asamankese and the three unidentified bodies being kept at the Asamankese Government Hospital mortuary.
The victims were among other passengers from Accra travelling to Akwatia and Kade on Tuesday night when their ASIA Cosmos bus, number GR 5239 Q collided on a tipper truck, number GW 265 U travelling from the opposite direction, leading to the death of the ten people, nine on the spot.
