Council gives to Jaway-Wharf

Jaway-Wharf (W/R), Dec 24, GNA- The Local Council of Churches at Jaway-Wharf has presented items worth 9.2 million cedis to the community.

Elder Ayisi Asare, Director of evangelism for both Western and Central regions, presented the items which included 20 street bulbs and five shovels.

He expressed the hope that the items would be used to enhance the sanitation programme of the district assembly. Elder Asare said religious organizations should not restrict themselves to the propagation of the Gospel alone but should also render social services essential to the well being of the people. Pastor Adu Cudjoe of the Church of Pentecost said the council would soon set up a special fund to cater for the education of brilliant but needy pupils and students and also to support health and sanitation programmes of the district assembly.

Mr. Martin Yameke Ackah, the District Chief Executive for Jomoro who received the items, thanked members of the council for the donation.
