Minister’s house ‘targeted’ with bombs

Information available to 3news.com indicates that some explosive objects were this morning found near the residence of the Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Andy Osei Okrah.

Personnel from the national security swiftly moved to the scene to defuse what residents believe to be bombs on Tuesday.

TV3’s Northern Sector Bureau Chief, Kofi Adu Domfeh who was at the scene reports that one of the bombs were found at the entrance to the Deputy Minister’s official bungalow.

Another was discovered near the house, which is close to a national security installation in Kumasi: National Security Data Centre.

According to Kofi, personnel from the National Anti-Bomb Squad who were also at the scene moved the two objects away before they detonate.

One of the security personnel would not call the objects bombs but described them as “powerful explosives”.

Meanwhile, some residents believe somebody who was being pursued or to avoid being caught with the explosives drop them there.
