Minister to extend mosquito spraying to Acheaman

Amasaman (GA), Dec. 23, GNA – Nii Kwartey Adjan, Chief of Acheaman near Amasaman on Sunday appealed to the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Sheikh I.C. Quaye to extend the mosquito spraying exercise to Acheaman and the surrounding areas.

Nii Kwartey Adjan said more than 200 people, including children have been treated at Amasaman Clinic, who were down with malaria due to mosquito bites.

The Chief made the appeal after a five-hour clean-up exercise organised by the chiefs and people of Acheaman who cleared bushes, desilted gutters and swept surroundings of the town. Addressing the people later, Nii Kwartey Adjan called for unity among the people to give communal support to enhance development in the area.

He said the clean-up exercise would be carried out every two weeks in the town and other villages to ensure good sanitation. Nii Oshipi called on drivers and passengers to put an end to throwing of rubbish from moving vehicles to make the environment clean.
