Shatta Wale’s father is an executioner not a Chief – Ngleshie Amanfrom Djasehene

The Chiefs and Elders of Ngleshie Amanfrom have disclosed that Nii Akramah Mensah, father of dancehall artiste Shatta Wale, cannot be recognized as a King but an executioner at the Ngleshie Amanfrom palace.

Addressing journalists in Accra, the Djasehene of Ngleshie Amanfrom, Nii kwaku Botwe IV who contested the dance hall artiste father’s legitimacy to rule said he[Nii kwaku Botwe IV] being the only person who could en-stool or de-stool a King in the Ngleshie Amanfrom traditional area has never installed Nii Akramah Mensah as a chief.

He said: “He(Nii Akramah Mensah) hasn’t been en-stooled. He is a member of the family alright but his position at the palace is an executioner and he isn’t the right person to be en-stooled King, but rather his elder brother (Nii Boa Armah) is the rightful heir to the throne and not (Nii Akramah Mensah).”

This comes at a time when the aggrieved Chiefs and Elders of the Area have accused Nii Akramah Mensah of hiring landguards to disturb people of Amanfrom.

Mr. Charles Nii Akramah Mensah was installed as Chief of Ngleshie Amanfro in December 2015.

The 56 year old was installed by the seven recognised family heads of the community in the Ga-South municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

He bears the stool name Nii Akramah the second.

Ngleshie Amanfro, one of the communities within the Ga south municipality originated from the Ajumaku Division of James Town and resettled at its current location by the government in 1978, due to the creation of the Weija Lake.
