APC will contest December polls no matter what – Hassan Ayariga vows

Flagbearer of the All People’s Congress Hassan Ayariga has vowed to go the extra mile in ensuring that the All Peoples Congress participates in this year’s general elections.

Hassan Ayariga is in court contesting his disqualification from the presidential race by the Electoral Commission for failing to meet set criteria in CI 94.

But speaking to journalists in Accra Monday morning, Hassan Ayariga insisted that his party will take part in the December elections despite the disqualification.

He said “The judge has asked us to come back tomorrow so we can debate the issue. Because the EC filed its documents today we will have to meet at 8 tomorrow morning.”

He added, “We know we will win this case. It’s in the interest of the country that’s why we are fighting this cause. The APC this year will go far, we will contest the elections no matter what.”

An Accra High Court on Monday adjourned hearing of the suit filed by Flagbearer of the All People’s Congress (APC), Hassan Ayariga challenging his disqualification by the Electoral Commission (EC) to contest the presidential elections.

The adjournment followed the failure of lawyers for both sides to submit their statement of case and written submissions as ordered by the Judge, Justice Barbara Tetteh Charway during the last sitting.
