DVLA, Police swoop on fake number plate dealer

A combined taskforce of the Techiman office of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) and the Motor Transport and Traffic Department (MTTD) have arrested a 32year-old man for trading in fake number plates.

Kwaku Ofori was arrested at the Techiman Magazine while working on new number plates to be issued to his unsuspecting clients.

He was arraigned before the Tuobodom Magistrate Court on Friday, October 28, 2016 where he pleaded guilty for trading in fake number plates.

Ofori has been scheduled to reappear before the court next week where the presiding judge is expected to rule on the matter.
