Man, 36, arrested for ‘stealing’ truck

A 36-year-old driver has been arrested by the Madina Divisional Police Command for allegedly stealing a Nissan UD truck belonging to an Ashalley Botwe-based contractor.

The contractor said he parked the vehicle at the Madina Ghana Telecom on July 27, 2016 but found it missing the following day.

A report was, consequently, made to the Madina Command. But the complainant saw the car parked at a mechanic shop on October 18 in Agona Nkwanta in the Western Region, where he had travelled to.

A tip-off to the police in the Agona Nkwanta led to the arrest of Constant Anorkye, who claimed ownership of the vehicle and said it was bought for him by a brother by name Uncle Joe.

Accra Regional Police Command Public Relations Officer ASP Effia Tenge said the accused was charged after investigations.
