Mismanagement of SADA has increased poverty in the North – Bawumia

The Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has attributed the high level of poverty in the Northern Region to the ruling Party’s mismanagement of the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA).

According to him, the resources of SADA could have provided the people of the Northern Region with basic social amenities such as infrastructure, water and the construction of good roads which could have gone a long way to reduce poverty in the area.

Addressing party faithful during his campaign tour at Sang in Mion Constituency in the Northern Region, Dr. Bawumia mentioned that corruption in the Mahama administration and the incompetent leaders tasked to handle the SADA project worsened the already high poverty rate in the Northern region after eight years of the NDC government.

“We are going to reorganize SADA, we are going to create a Northern Development Authority, we are going to have people of competence who are handling this authority, and we are going to have people of integrity, people who are incorruptible to handle these resource,” he stated.

He urged the People to vote for the NPP and Nana Akufo-Addo to shape the development of the three Northern Regions in Ghana.
