Preachers endorsing politicians divisive – Anyani Boadum

The Superintendent Bishop of the Jesus Generation Ministries, Rt Reverend Dr Nana Anyani Boadum has condemned preachers endorsing Presidential candidates from the pulpit.

Political endorsements by the clergy appears to have soared in the upcoming elections as several Men of God have waded into predicting the results of the December 7 polls.

Rev. Dr Nana Anyani Boadum who disagreed with the practice by some preachers on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM Wednesday said the trend is problematic and may set divisions in the Church.

“I won’t say the prophecies are not from God but morally it is unethical for a Man of God to do that. In every field there are ethics and preachers will have to adhere same in religion as well.”

His comment follows the open declaration of NPP’s Flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo as President elect by founder and leader of the Ezra Church of God in Asonomanso Nkwanta in the Kwabre District of the Ashanti Region.

Prophet Kofi Amponsah pronounced the three-time Flagbearer the winner when he visited the church together with his entourage during his tour to the Ashanti Region.

Prophet Kofi Amponsah prayed for Nana Akufo Addo and binded any spirit that would block him from being the President.

He ordained the flagbearer as the new President of Ghana by symbolically placing him thrice on his spiritual seat.
