Yilo Krobo pass vote of no confidence in Presiding Member

Somanya (E/R), Dec 19, GNA – The Yilo Krobo District Assembly on Thursday, passed a ”Vote of No Confidence” in its Presiding Member, Mr Moses Tetteh Kwao and passed a 15-point resolution signed by 39 out of the 54-members.

The resolution said Mr Kwao used his office to create division, confusion and disorder in the assembly and had caused financial loss to the assembly by permitting his brother (a non-member) to enjoy lunch prepared for only assembly members and heads of departments. The resolution accused him of doing nothing to address the series of media publications against the DCE in the “Crusading Guide” newspaper since March.

The resolution said the Yilo Krobo Constituency NPP Executives suspended 12 members, including Mr Kwao, from the party for “diabolical acts and therefore he does not qualify to hold that Presiding Member position”.

Mr Kwao left the House with four of his sympathisers when a member started moving the motion and was replaced by Nii Moses Addey, Assembly Member for Samlesi, who would preside over the two-day meeting until a new Presiding Member is elected.
