Kwaprahene calls for peace, unity and stability

Kumasi, Dec 19, GNA – Nana Adu-Gyamfi Kumanin, chief of Kwapra near Kumasi, has called on Ghanaians to ensure peace, unity and stability for development.

“We should endeavour to consolidate the country’s young constitutional democracy to bring about peace, unity and stability,” he said.

In a Christmas message to Ghanaians, Nana Adu-Gyamfi Kumanin reiterated his call on community leaders including chiefs and unit committee members to initiate development programmes to improve the lot of their people.

He said poverty could be adequately alleviated if people entrusted with responsibilities demonstrated good leadership. Nana Kumanin advised his fellow traditional rulers to use part of stool land revenue and royalties for development to improve the living standard of the people.

He, however, warned persons handling finances belonging to their communities against malfeasance and misapplication, which, he said, dampen communal spirit.

Nana Kumanis said: “Most communities are neglected by donors and philanthropists due to lack of proper financial management, accountability and transparency by community leaders”. He urged Ghanaians to live in peace and unite with their neighbours during and after the Christmas and New Year.
