In a Press Conference chaired by the Obuasi Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi today at the Municipal Assembly Conference Hall, the artisans Small Scale miners have been ordered to vacate AngloGold Ashanti’s operational concessions within a three week given time starting from today and end on the 16th November, 2016.
The Press Conference which was under heavy Military and Police protection was attended by the Executives of the Artisans Small Scale Miners from the local and National offices, Minerals Commission, Regional and Divisional Police Commands, Obuasi Municipal Assembly and other invited guests.
This comes after members of the Small Scale miners Association took to the streets to demonstrate against their movement by the Minerals Commission to the new sites destroying various political party offices and party billboards and the Obuasi Municipal Assembly earlier on Wednesday.
New Movement Plan.
The new Movement plan will see the various small scale miners leaving AngloGold Ashanti’s concession to the new sites namely Kotopreso, Suhyenso, Akasu, Tema Ridge, Adumenu and Abedwam in six batches.

Caution
Mr. Ricahrd Ofori Agyemang Boadi cautioned media men present to stick to what has been said and avoid exaggeration.
He also called on the executives of the Small Scale miners not to sway away from what has been discussed at the Press conference.
AngloGold Ashanti
Officials from AngloGold Ashanti declined to join the Press Conference siting various issues that were made known to the public.
