Ga Mashie conflict: Woman loses ear

The left ear of Ramatu Cobblah, a 26-year old petty trader, was slashed by a member of a gang which invaded her home at Korle We at Usher Town in Accra.

The incident occurred on Thursday, October 20, at about 3pm when the suspect, identified as Lebi, used a broken bottle to cut off the lady’s ear after some verbal exchanges that ensued between the victim and the thugs.

A relative of the victim, Nuumo Okai I, who is the Chief Priest of Korle We, explained to ClassFMonline that the incident occurred a few hours after the hearing of a court case in which he was a plaintiff.

“I was distraught after the bloody attack which left her wounded with one of her ears almost chopped off,” he said.

He explained that the suspect and the gang which carried out the attack ware sympathisers of the defendants in the court case.

Nuumo Okai I indicated that Ramatu was admitted at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for treatment and the matter has been reported to the police.
