PeaceJam mentors gear up for October slam

Mentors of this year’s Ghana PeaceJam slam have undergone training to equip them facilitate the October PeaceJam conference dubbed “peaceJam slam”.

The training held on Saturday, 15th October aimed at equipping the mentors (young adults) with the necessary skills they needed in coaching this year’s peacejammers expected at the slam.

The conference is on the theme “youth, the beacon for peaceful elections” and will be hosted by the West Africa Centre for Peace Foundation.

The event will be characterized by leadership training skills, team building excercises, community service projects and a peace march through principal streets in Nima to drum home the need to maintain peace before, during and after the 2016 elections.

About 400 peacejammers, comprising Junior and Senior High School students from Accra and Eastern region are expected at the slam scheduled to take place on 22nd October 2016 at St. Kizito conference hall, Nima.
