Police hunt NPP supporters destroying NDC billboards

The Ghana Police Service are hunting for NPP Supporters who are destroying NDC
billboards, banners and posters in the Fanteakwa South constituency.

On Saturday, The NPP parliamentary candidate for Fanteakwa, Kofi Okyere-Agyekum popularly called Arafat launched his campaign in the Fanteakwa south constituency and before the launch most banners and billboards of the NDC parliamentary candidate were destroyed across the constituency.

This made the campaign team the NDC parliamentary candidate Ms Abigail Elorm Mensah quickly report the incidence to the police which led to prompt action of the security operatives to save the situation.

The Police who are still hunting for the culprits have called for calm while police hunt for suspects.

A month ago, a similar thing happened across all the regions to which the General Secretary of the in the Eastern Region released a statement to instruct all party faithfuls to serve as ”Umbrella guards” at all places where NDC billboards were located in order to protect them since the countless complaints lodged at the Police stations don’t seem to be enough deterrent.

Again the general secretary cautioned those behind this act as well as political parties to desist from this shameful act since it obviously will destroy the peace and tranquility we are currently enjoying in the area.
