Mahama in Lome for AU summit

President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Lome, Togo, for the African Union’s extraordinary summit on maritime security, safety, and development in Africa.

He left Ghana on Saturday, October 15, and is expected to return the same day.

Announcing via Twitter his arrival in the West African country on Saturday, Mr Mahama tweeted: “Just arrived in Lome, Togo, for the AU’s Extraordinary Summit on Maritime Security, Safety and Development in Africa.”

Mr Mahama is contesting elections back home for a second term. He is billed to hit the Volta Region, his party’s stronghold, with his campaign on Monday.
