Neither smoke ‘wee’ nor drink ‘akpeteshie’ on election day – NDC MP aspirant

The ruling National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Bosomtwe constituency in the Ashanti region Madam Veronica Antwi Adjei has entreated the various political parties neither to smoke ‘wee’ nor drink to stupor during December polls.

According to her, excessive drinking is tantamount to causing mayhem which will mar the elections in the constituency.

Madam Veronica, who is also the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, observed that most people visit drinking bars during elections and after getting intoxicated, they start causing confusion.

Speaking on Ultimate Breakfast Show during ‘Kumasi speaks’ project at Jachie-Pramso hosted by Lantam Papanko, she said drunkards and ‘wee’ smokers are influenced by the ‘wee’ and alcoholic beverages and are unable to exercise their franchise with diligence.

She believes the election is a serious exercise which should be treated as such and that the election is not about exchange of blows or inciting people.

‘The election is not war, it’s a means of opinion sharing either one is for or against. Don’t drink ‘akpeteshie’ or smoke ‘wee’ to cause commotion; we should go to the polls peacefully. We should be united as a country, we should stop fighting each other, we are serving mother Ghana not our individual political parties,’ she entreated.

Madam Veronica called on the electorate to retain the Mahama-led NDC government in power to continue with the good works.
