KMA to ‘endorse’ compromise PM candidate today

Assembly members at the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly are expected to allow for a compromised candidate nominated by the Kumasi Traditional Council to be voted as Presiding member today.

The candidate, Nana Adu Mensah Asare, will be interviewed and decided on by the assembly members later today.

Today’s vote will be the seventh time the Kumasi metropolitan assembly will attempt to elect a presiding member for the assembly.

Ashanti regional minister, John Alexander Ackon, earlier this month urged residents in Kumasi to mount pressure on their assembly members to reach a compromise on the matter.
