Court remands farmer for attempted murder

Mankranso (Ash), Dec 10, GNA- The Mankranso Magistrate’s court on Tuesday remanded a 48-year-old farmer in prison custody for attempted murder.

Alex Agyemang alias Kwame Acheampong, pleaded not guilty and will re-appear on December 16.

Police Inspector Carl Michael Adjeng, told the court that on November 15, this year, the accused who lived in the same village with Kwadwo Pipim, asked for some money from Pipim who could not afford.

Inspector Adjeng said at about 7.30 pm on the same day, the two were standing by a roadside when the accused ran to his house, took a cutlass and rushed at Pipim.

The prosecution said Pipim, however, found the accused coming on him with the cutlass so he took to his heels and joined a taxi, which was heading towards Kumasi.

The case was reported to the police and the accused was arrested.
