Police arrested Indian hemp peddlers

Dormaa-Ahenkro, Dec 9, GNA – The police in the Dormaa District has arrested eight people suspected to be in possession of Indian hemp at the weekend.

The operation took place at Dormaa Akwamu, Asuotiano, Wamfie, Wamanafo, Kyeremasu and Amaasu.

Superintendent C.S.M. Brew, the Dormaa District Police Commander, told the GNA that parcels and wrappers seized from the suspects during the operation contained dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp had been sent to the Forensic Laboratory for examination.

The suspects who were arraigned before the circuit court at Dormaa-Ahenkro on Monday were remanded and would re-appear on December 18.
