One-Week Observation for Late Highlife Icon Dada KD Scheduled for June 21

Plans are underway to honour the memory of Ghanaian Highlife legend Dada Kwaku Duah, popularly known as Dada KD, with a one-week observation ceremony scheduled for Saturday, June 21, 2025.

The event is set to take place at 7:00 a.m. at the East Legon Executive Club House in Accra, where family, friends, and fans are expected to gather to pay tribute to the late musician.

Dada KD sadly passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025, at the Gbawe SDA Hospital following a brief illness. He was 54 years old.

His untimely death came just days before he was expected to headline a major performance in London on May 25. The show was one of many planned to mark his decades-long contribution to the Highlife genre.

Renowned for timeless tracks such as “Odo Mu Anigye,” “Ene Me Nye,” “Yebeye Yen Ho Fi,” “So Mu Gye,” and “Obiaa Se Eye,” Dada KD earned a devoted fan base and left an indelible mark on Ghana’s music scene.

The family is expected to release additional details concerning funeral arrangements in the coming days.
