PNC Postpones Congress

The People’s National Convention (PNC) has postponed its National Delegates Congress originally scheduled for December 12, 2003 to February 20 and 21, next year.

The postponement is to allow the party time to complete the ongoing nationwide capacity training programme and also enable new members who wish to contest for the national executive positions to go through the party’s qualification and application procedures.

A statement issued in Accra and signed by the Publicity Committee Chairman of the party, Mr D. Bin-Kotten Nibi stated that “all positions of the national executive and the position of flagbearer are open for contest.”

It urged all qualified party members who wish to contest for any position to apply to the General Secretary. The statement said nominations will remain open till January 31, 2004 and expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by the postponement.
