Victor Smith promises new district for Abuakwa North

Ghana’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom and National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Abuakwa North constituency of the Eastern Region, Ambassador Victor Smith has promised to facilitate the creation of a new district for the area.

This according to him will help to facilitate the development of the constituency under his tenure as the Member of Parliament for the area.

He has therefore pledged to lobby for a new district for the people in the area to help boost the development of the constituency instead of being under East Akim Municipality.

Nyarko Abronomo of Koforidua-based Bryt Fm who was at his campaign launch, reports that the High Commissioner promised an era of radical development under his watch as a legislator for the area.

“We are currently under East Akim municipal assembly so I am assuring you that, I will fight for a new district for the good people of Abuakwa North in order to get the development we deserve,” He promised to thunderous cheers from party supporters.

On his part, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Simon Peter Asirifi, urged the people to vote for President Mahama and Ambassador Victor Smith to continue the good work already started by the government of which the municipality had also gotten its fair share.

“We have built schools, health centers, constructed roads, provided water whiles the Tafo market has seen great facelift including the ongoing construction of a storey building for traders,” he boasted.
