Kumasi Rattray Park not for open sex – Manager

Managers of the Kumasi Rattray Park have revealed that the recreational centre is not for open sex by lovebirds or an arena for child prostitution.

They indicate that adequate security measures have been put in place to ensure that patrons, who visit the facility for relaxation, do not turn it into a place for open sex and other unwanted practices.

Speaking on the Ultimate Breakfast Show hosted by Lantam Papanko, Kwame Asamoah who manages the Kumasi Rattray Park, said security details are always patrolling the facility to nib such activities in the bud.

“The place is not meant for open sex or prostitution….it is for relaxation and we have the security always patrolling to ensure that such activities are not ongoing during our period of operations”, he disclosed.

He proposed that the facility should be exempted from paying taxes because it was not established to make profits adding that all proceeds it accrues are paid directly to the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) who are the owners.

“I think we should be exempted from paying tax, we are not founded to make profit. The benefits of Rattray Park should be exempted and all the proceeds go to the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly”.

Kwame Asamoah also disabused the minds of those holding the erroneous impression the multi-million dollar facility is an NDC edifice stating “the fact that the park was built in an NDC era, doesn’t make it an NDC park. Rattray Park is an entity of the KMA”
