Kyei Mensah’s contender to back out

Hayford Osei Bempah, the NPP sympathizer contesting minority leader Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu for the Suame seat in the December polls is set to announce his withdrawal from the race, Starr News has learnt.

According to sources, leading figures of the opposition party have engaged the young businessman to reconsider his decision over fears it may split votes of the party in the constituency and affect their performance in the region.

Osei Bempah who has picked his nomination forms to contest as an independent candidate, has accused the minority leader of depriving the Suame residents of development.

Speaking to Ultimate FM’s Isaac Bediako Justice on the development, the NPP chairman for the Suame constituency Kennedy Marfo said the party is confident Mr. Bempah will declare support for Mr. Mensah-Bonsu before the December elections.
